Airport Development Group Keeps Top End T20 Series Going Global

Darwin Airport Resorts to Host All Teams and Officials During 2025 Tournament

Northern Territory Cricket is proud to announce the ongoing partnership with Airport Development Group (ADG), owners of Darwin Airport Resorts and Darwin International Airport, as a major sponsor of the 2025 Top End T20 Series.

Now in its fourth year, the partnership between ADG and NT Cricket continues to set new benchmarks, combining elite sport with world-class hospitality and a commitment to showcasing the Top End on the global stage.

Airport Development Group is a significant Northern Territory business with a diverse portfolio of infrastructure assets including airports, aviation, accommodation, and commercial operations. Since 1998, ADG has contributed more than $270 million annually to the NT economy, supporting tourism, jobs, and regional development.

The 2025 Top End T20 Series will be the biggest yet, with 11 teams competing across 36 fixtures from 14–24 August at five venues in and around Darwin. Last year’s global broadcast audience exceeded 12.8 million, and this year is on track to surpass that milestone.

International sides Nepal, Pakistan Shaheens, Bangladesh ‘A’ and the Chicago Kingsmen will take on the Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers, Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, ACT Comets and home team NT Strike.

As part of the partnership, all visiting teams, match officials and event staff will be hosted at the Novotel, Ibis and Mercure Darwin Airport Resorts, owned and operated by ADG under the Darwin Airport Resorts portfolio. Offering tropical surrounds, modern amenities and unrivalled proximity to the airport and playing venues, the resort continues to position itself as the preferred home for elite sporting teams in the Territory.

This strategic partnership not only reflects ADG’s commitment to promoting Territory sport and tourism but also strengthens Darwin’s reputation as an emerging destination for international and interstate competition.

NT Cricket CEO, Gavin Dovey:

“Airport Development Group have been with us from day one on this journey and have a been a huge reason behind our ability to grow this event to the scale we have.

“We have two of the top ten most populous countries participating in the event again in Pakistan and Bangladesh, and for the first time we welcome the Nepal National Team and the Chicago Kingsmen from Minor League Cricket in the United States.

We’re thankful to ADG; who believe in and back our vision, and we can’t wait to work closely together to market, promote and showcase the Northern Territory."

Tony Edmondstone, CEO of Airport Development Group, said:

“We are proud to support NT Cricket and the Top End T20, a series that not only celebrates the spirit of the game but also brings communities together. As the gateway to northern Australia, Darwin International Airport is delighted to welcome the players, officials, and supporters from all over the world to experience the best of the Territory.”

Darwin Airport Resorts will play a key role in hosting players and international guests throughout the tournament.

Raymond Bragg, General Manager of Darwin Airport Resorts, added:

“It is a privilege to host the world’s cricketing communities right here at Darwin Airport Resorts. We are committed to providing a comfortable and memorable stay for all our guests and to showcasing our unique Territory hospitality”.

Together, Airport Development Group, Darwin Airport Resorts and Northern Territory Cricket extend a warm welcome to all teams, visitors and locals who will experience this incredible season of cricket in the Top End.
