Infrastructure
Strengthening Regional Aviation
We are undertaking an expansion of the Western General Aviation Apron, increasing the Territory’s capacity to service its remote and regional hubs.
This project provides additional parking bays for general aviation aircraft, additional airfield ground lighting and floodlighting.
Infrastructure
Boosting Export Opportunities
ADG’s cold and freight storage facility is the Territory’s only vapour heat treatment (VHT) plant.
The plant revolutionises the local export industry by opening new export markets.
It will generate $208 million a year for the Territory and expected to create 468 jobs in agriculture, tourism and freight by 2029-30
Infrastructure
Commitment to Accessibility and Inclusion
ADG is committed to accessible and inclusive facilities.
As a member of Hidden Disabilities, ADG works to support and encourage inclusivity, acceptance and understanding. DIA is proud to be a Sunflower-friendly space.
We invested in e-Mobby electric wheelchairs to provide safer access to aerobridges for people with restricted mobility.
A new parents’ room and adult changing facility with a hoist was built at DIA in 2024.
Infrastructure
Investing in a Sustainable Future
All of ADG’s infrastructure projects incorporate consideration for green and clean energy.
ADG has invested significantly in solar at all its airports and was recognised at the 2022 Airports Council International (Asia Pacific) Green Airports awards with a silver award for carbon management strategies, renewable energy generation and emissions reduction targets.
In 2025, ADG achieved a second silver award for carbon management strategies following the construction of our new energy-efficient chiller units at the Darwin International Airport.
