Airport Development Group (ADG) is thrilled to celebrate the achievements of Steven Ferreira, a proud graduate of our Indigenous Training Academy (ITA). Steven recently represented Australia at the prestigious International Friendly Skills Competition: Food and Beverage Service, held in Timor-Leste. As the sole Australian participant, Steven demonstrated the exceptional skills he honed through his Certificate III in Hospitality, earned at the ITA.

Over three days, Steven showcased his expertise in high-quality food and beverage service, performing under tight time constraints and for distinguished guests. His remarkable efforts culminated in being invited to deliver the closing address—a true testament to his professionalism, dedication, and outstanding talent.

Steven’s success also highlights the broader importance of professionalism and guest satisfaction in hospitality—an industry where creating memorable experiences is paramount. He continues to strive for personal and professional growth by completing the ITA’s graduate training program in Leadership and Mentoring.

ADG would also like to recognise the hospitality training team at the Institute of Skills and Training Australia and GTNT for their invaluable support in making our training programs a success.

Samantha Watkins, Manager of the Indigenous Training Academy, acknowledged Steven’s achievement, "Steven has worked tirelessly to refine his craft and embraced this incredible opportunity to represent himself, the ITA, and ADG on an international stage. His achievements reflect the passion and commitment he brings to hospitality and beverage service. He is a shining example of the talent we are proud to nurture at the ITA."

Congratulations, Steven, on this incredible achievement.
