Community Grants Program
Airport Development Group (ADG) is committed to supporting grassroots initiatives that further enhance and improve the liveability of our communities across the Northern Territory.
Our Community Grants Program invites organisations to apply for funding that aligns with ADG’s strategic pillars of Indigenous Advancement, Tourism Enhancement and Community and Stakeholder Support.
How to apply
Our Community Grants Program round 3 opens on Thursday 15 May 2025 and closes on Friday 27 June 2025.
Notification of the outcome will be provided by 18 July 2025.
Eligible organisations can apply for grants ranging from $500 to $2000 (including GST).

1. Who can apply for the ADG Community Grants Program?
Organisations based in Darwin, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, and surrounding regions are eligible to apply. We welcome applications from inclusive, grassroots, community-led organisations that focus on education, environment, health, innovation, arts, or culture.
2. What types of projects are eligible for funding?
Projects must align with ADG’s strategic pillars:
- Indigenous Advancement
- Tourism Enhancement
- Community and Stakeholder Support
Eligible projects may focus on:
- Education and Training
- Health and Wellbeing
- Sports and Recreation
- Arts and Culture
- Environmental Sustainability
- Innovation and Technology
3. What types of activities are not eligible for funding?
The following activities are not eligible for funding:
- Retrospective activities
- Political or religious initiatives
- High-risk or offensive activities
- Responsibilities of the government
- Salaries
- Travel
- Non-tangible items.
4. How much funding is available?
Eligible organisations can apply for grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 (including GST).
5. How can I improve my chances of submitting a successful application?
To give your application the best chance of success, ensure it clearly addresses the program’s key assessment criteria. The selection committee evaluates each submission based on the following:
- Strategic Alignment – Projects should align with ADG’s purpose:
a) Improving the lives of Northern Australians through infrastructure
b) Providing education and employment opportunities to empower Indigenous Australians
- Local Impact – Tangible benefits within the NT, especially Darwin, Tennant Creek, and Alice Springs
- Meaningful Outcomes – Clear, measurable community benefits
- Sustainability – Long-term value beyond the funding period
- Support for First Nations Peoples – Direct support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Community Diversity – Engagement with diverse groups such as LGBTIQA+ individuals, youth, seniors, people with disabilities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and those experiencing hardship
- Accountability – Structured, transparent, and reportable delivery
6. How do I apply?
Applications can be submitted through the ADG Community Grants Program portal. Ensure your project aligns with the eligibility criteria and funding priorities before submitting.
7. What are the key dates for Round 3 (May 2025)?
Applications Open: Thursday, 15 May 2025
Applications Close: Friday, 27 June 2025 at 5:00 PM ACST
Successful Applicants Notified: Friday, 18 July 2025
