The newest international service will take off from the Northern Territory today with the Flying Kangaroo’s inaugural Darwin-Singapore service departing this afternoon. Adding more than 70,000 seats between Darwin and Singapore, the new Qantas service will provide a one stop option to Asia and Europe, making it the fastest way for Territorians to travel to London. The direct route will also make it easier for international travellers to visit Darwin, saving hours of travel time by no longer having to fly through other Australian capital cities. -

Riding for the Disabled Top End (RDA) has received 30 new helmets, and 6 pairs of riding boots thanks to Airport Development Group’s inaugural Community Grants Program. The helmets and boots, which need to be replaced every 5 years, are important safety equipment for participants in RDA’s programs, which allow people with diverse abilities to learn new life skills and achieve personal growth through equestrian activities. -

The construction of a new water parking bay, specifically designed to accommodate amphibian aircraft and due to be completed in early April, has been delayed due to unexpected interest from locals.
Work on the parking bay commenced in December 2022 and when completed will allow DIA to conduct maintenance, repairs, and testing on up to three amphibian aircraft at one time.
But interest from locals has pushed completion of the project back from the original date of early April 2023. -

Applications are now open for Airport Development Group’s Indigenous Training Academy. The Academy was established in 2022 at ADG’s Mercure and Novotel Hotel Resort complex and offers nationally recognised qualifications. A 12-month program is offered, with trainees having a maximum 24 months to complete the qualification. The program includes 6 hours of training and a minimum 20 hours per week work at the hotels. -
