Darwin International Airport Welcomes the Year of the Horse with Vibrant Chinese New Year Celebrations
Darwin International Airport and Darwin Airport Resorts were alive with colour, music, and celebration as the Chung Wah Society delivered a spectacular Lion Dance performance to mark the commencement of Chinese New Year and welcome the Year of the Horse.
The vibrant performance began at Darwin Airport Resorts, where the Lion Dancers made their way through the precinct, engaging guests and ADG team members before concluding with a dynamic finale highlighting the key themes of the year ahead.
Airport Development Group (ADG) Executive General Manager Strategy and Development, Greg Norman, who witnessed the performance at Darwin Airport Resorts, said the celebration was a powerful expression of culture and community.
“It was wonderful to engage with the Chung Wah Society and experience such a colourful and spectacular performance. Events like this reflect the rich cultural fabric of Darwin and the importance of bringing our community together,” Mr Norman said.
Darwin Airport Resorts General Manager, Raymond Bragg, said the Lion Dance brought a sense of energy and optimism across the precinct.
