Bangladesh Arrives in Darwin as Teams Prepare for 10 days of T20 cricket
Darwin’s historic week of international cricket will continue when the 2026 Study NT Top End T20 Series begins on Friday, 21 August.
Following the return of Test cricket to Darwin after 22 years, nine teams from Australia and around the world will compete in 30 matches across 10 days.
Airport Development Group (ADG) is welcoming players, coaches, officials and umpires travelling through Darwin International Airport as teams arrive ahead of the opening matches.
The Series will feature the Nepal's National T20 Cricket Team, Bangladesh High Performance Team, New Zealand A, HH Kingsmen, ACT Comets, Cricket Victoria, Adelaide Strikers, Hobart Hurricanes and the NT Strike.
ADG Executive General Manager Commercial Seb Mackinnon said the arrival of the teams continued an important period for cricket and major events in the Territory.

Our involvement extends beyond welcoming teams through the airport. We also look forward to hosting players, officials and supporters at Darwin Airport Resorts and helping provide a memorable Top End experience.
“Following an extraordinary Test match between Australia and Bangladesh, it is fantastic to see the momentum continue with the Study NT Top End T20 Series,” Mr Mackinnon said.
“We are proud to welcome the participating teams, umpires and officials to Darwin as they arrive for 10 days of high-quality cricket.
“Our involvement extends beyond welcoming teams through the airport. We also look forward to hosting players, officials and supporters at Darwin Airport Resorts and helping provide a memorable Top End experience.
“Darwin has the facilities, climate and hospitality to host major sporting events, supported by a community that embraces the opportunity to see high-quality cricket in its own backyard.”
The Series will provide another opportunity to showcase Darwin to visiting teams, supporters and broadcast audiences across Australia and key international markets.
Major sporting events play an important role in ADG’s broader sports tourism strategy by attracting visitors, supporting local accommodation, hospitality and tourism businesses, and strengthening Darwin’s reputation as a sporting destination.
The 2026 Study NT Top End T20 Series will run from Friday, 21 August to Sunday, 30 August, culminating in Finals Day at DXC Arena.
