Airport Development Group Supports Learning Through Play with Darwin Toy Library Grant

Airport Development Group (ADG) is proud to support the Darwin Toy Library through its Community Grants Program, providing funding to expand access to educational STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) resources for Territory families.

The grant will support the Darwin Toy Library's Building Thinkers Through Play project, enabling the purchase of new games, science kits, construction resources and learning materials that help children develop problem-solving skills, creativity and confidence through play. The project aims to increase equitable access to educational resources for families across Greater Darwin, regardless of income, background or ability.

Established for more than 47 years, the Darwin Toy Library supports approximately 450 member families and provides affordable access to a wide range of toys, games and educational resources that promote learning and child development.

ADG Executive, Sandra de Kock, said the project strongly aligned with ADG's commitment to supporting community wellbeing and educational opportunities across the Northern Territory.

Airport Development Group is committed to investing in initiatives that deliver meaningful and lasting benefits to our community

"Airport Development Group is committed to investing in initiatives that deliver meaningful and lasting benefits to our community," Ms de Kock said.

"The Darwin Toy Library plays an important role in supporting local families by making quality educational resources accessible and affordable. Through this grant, more children will have the opportunity to explore, create and learn through play."

"We are pleased to support a project that encourages early learning, fosters curiosity and helps build the skills that young Territorians will carry with them into the future."

Darwin Toy Library Director Caryn Schoolmeester welcomed the support, noting that the new resources would remain in the library's lending collection for years to come, benefiting hundreds of families throughout the region.

The ADG Community Grants Program supports projects that strengthen communities, create opportunities and deliver positive social outcomes across the Northern Territory.
